Introduction
Reduction is not limitation — it is precision. Every element inside a frame competes for attention. The discipline lies in deciding what earns its place and what must be removed.

The Problem with Visual Noise
Clutter weakens tension. When too many visual signals exist, the subject loses authority. Background elements, uncontrolled highlights, unnecessary props — they dilute narrative impact. Strong composition begins with elimination.

Subtraction as a Creative Tool
Instead of asking “What can I add?” ask:
What can be removed?
What can be simplified?
What can be softened into negative space?
Cropping tighter, reducing color variation, and limiting focal points create stronger visual hierarchy.

Designing with intent
A restrained frame directs the eye with clarity.
It builds tension through absence and allows the subject to breathe within controlled space.
Reduction is not emptiness.
It is control.
